Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Our homestay is located in Ban Hia, Pua District, Nan Province, in Northern Thailand — an area surrounded by rice fields and mountains, just a 4 km drive from Pua town. See Our Location for the exact place.

Do you offer transportation service?

Yes, we offer complimentary pickup and drop-off service to/from Pua Bus Station. We also offer transportation to/from Nan town or any other location in Nan Province for an additional charge.

How many rooms you have?

We have only one bungalow/room, allowing us to provide a quiet, exclusive, and personalized stay.

How many guests can stay?

The room includes one king-size bed for up to 2 guests and one sofa bed for 1 additional guest. One child under 10 years old may share the king-size bed with their parents.

Do you serve breakfast?

Yes, we serve breakfast - a freshly prepared Thai or Western breakfast set can be served between 7:00 and 9:30.

What time are check-in and check-out?
You can check in from 14:00 onwards and are welcome to make yourself at home. Check-out is before 11:00, giving our housekeeping team time to prepare the room for the next guests. We may be able to offer flexible check-in or check-out times, depending on availability and your talent for polite requesting.

Can I smoke at the homestay?

Smoking is not permitted in the room or on the balcony, but a designated smoking area is available at your private garden sala.

Do you offer laundry service?

On special request we can provide a limited laundry service. For bigger loads, there is a self-service laundry available in Pua town.

How do I make a reservation?

You are welcome to book through BOOKING or AGODA. However, guests who book directly with us enjoy more flexibility, personal assistance, and special promotions. To maintain a more personal homestay experience and keep our rates affordable, we handle reservations directly rather than through an automated booking system on our website. Please visit our Pricing & Inquiries page to contact us. We usually will reply within a few hours.

Do you have a restaurant?

No, we do not have a restaurant on-site. However, there are two local restaurants within 1 km of the homestay, and several more dining options within 3 km. What is a great way to support & experience the local community.

Do you have a swimming pool?

No, we do not have a swimming pool. Several birds & dogs have requested one, but construction permission remains complicated.

Do you have a TV?

No, the room doesn't have a TV. Before you panic, there's fresh air, and an excellent view of whatever happens to be going on outside in the rice fields and mountains.

Do you have airconditioning?

Yes, the room has air conditioning to keep you comfortable during your stay. As part of our commitment to the environment, we appreciate guests using it considerately, keep windows closed and turning it off when it's not needed.

Do you have private parking?

Yes, we provide private on-site parking for guests. You'll have 24-hour access, making it easy to arrive or leave whenever it suits your travel plans.

Do you have Wi-Fi?

Yes, we offer complementary Wi-Fi. Strong enough for video calls, although we encourage at least a brief argument with yourself before opening your laptop.

Do you have bicycles?

Yes, two bicycles are available free of charge for guests to use during their stay. They are perfect for village rides and temporarily forgetting what day it is.

Do you rent scooters?

No, we do not rent scooters. After careful consideration, we decided introducing scooters into mountain roads and holiday confidence levels was unnecessarily ambitious. However, there are scooter rental shops in Pua town. Be aware that this are legally motorbikes.

What can I do in Pua?
Explore the area by bicycle or on foot to experience local village life. You can also hike in Doi Phu Kha National Park or visit the mountain village Ban Sakad. Or simply sit & relax for a while — a surprisingly popular activity here. Please see our Neighborhood Guide for more recommendations.

What language do you speak?

We speak English, Thai, Dutch and German. And occasionally also the international language of pointing at things.

Are pets allowed?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets. The local chickens, however, operate with complete independence.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay by QR code, bank transfer, or cash (Thai Baht). No credit cards — partly simplicity, partly an ongoing personal disagreement with transaction fees.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

No, there is no minimum stay requirement, but we recommend a stay of at least 2 nights to make the most of your time here. Guests staying only one night tend to regret that when leaving.
